City of Atlanta and Fulton County residents can vote on measures on the Nov. 4 ballot that provide homestead exemptions from school district property taxes.
This November, Georgians will be able to vote for two Georgia Public Service Commission seats in a special statewide election, as well as several municipal seats and ballot measures. Early voting will take place from Oct. 14 to Oct. 31, and metro Atlanta residents can find a polling location near them here.
Last November, Georgia voters passed Amendment 1, which created a statewide homestead tax exemption that applies to counties, school systems, municipalities and consolidated governments unless they opt out. The amendment, introduced through Georgia House Bill 581, is meant to cap the amount that assessed property values can increase.
