According to local real estate broker Scott Pratt, for the first time in possibly decades, the metro Atlanta area has seen a negative net migration — meaning more people are moving out of than moving in.

That’s in addition to new data that found Atlanta is now among 39 metro areas that recently flipped from being an affordable place to buy a home to being a place where it’s now cheaper to rent.

Pratt is also the owner of Pratt & Associates Realty, and has been outspoken on this issue. On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” he talked with program host Rose Scott about the housing market and the Trump administration’s proposed 50-year mortgage plan. He also explains why he still encourages people to become homeowners.
