The former chief operating officer of the High Museum of Art in Midtown Atlanta was arraigned on Tuesday on a federal charge of theft involving the misappropriation of federal program funding.

Brady Lum, 59, was responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling the High Museum’s operational and financial activities during his time as COO from 2019-2025.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, Lum allegedly used his position to steal more than $600,000. Authorities claim that he did so by altering invoices, using his position to exercise delegated expense-approval authority, and applying accounting adjustments to spread his expenses around so they would not be readily identified.
