Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is facing new scrutiny following an investigation by Courier Georgia.

The report examines a series of lakefront property sales made by a company tied to Kemp during his first term in office.

According to the investigation, the buyers later received state contracts, appointments to state boards or benefited from legislation signed into law.

Kemp said in a statement he observes the highest standards when separating his personal enterprise from his role as chief executive.

Courtier Georgia political correspondent Colleen Hamilton joined “All Things Considered” to explain what the records show, why the transactions are drawing attention now and what questions remain unanswered.
