City of Atlanta residents can vote for Atlanta Board of Education members in the Nov. 4 state and municipal election. Early voting began last week and continues until the end of the month.
The school board, which serves Atlanta Public Schools, appoints the superintendent, approves the district’s annual budget ($1.85 billion for FY 2026), creates and approves policies and develops strategic plans in conjunction with the superintendent.
The Atlanta school board is made up of nine members who serve four-year terms. Each of the six districts vote for one representative, and there are three seats elected by Atlanta voters at-large.
