Kennesaw State University Expands Mental Health Services Due To Increasing Reports Of Anxiety Among Students

According to an October report from the American Psychological Association, Gen-Z — those 13 to 23 years old — is the age group reporting the highest rates of isolation, stress and anxiety.

The report noted the pandemic has led to an increase in students reporting mental health challenges.

In response to this, many colleges and institutions of higher learning are working to expand mental health resources for students.

Teresa Johnston is the assistant vice president for student affairs at Kennesaw State University. She oversees an initiative called Wellbeing@KSU.

On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look” she joined show host Rose Scott for a conversation about why these services are needed during this time.
