An intimate examination of home and homelessness is taking place in living rooms across Atlanta. The new play “How to Make a Home” tells the story of Antonio, a single father to an 8-year-old daughter struggling with housing insecurity and seeking hope in his community.
A collaboration between Out of Hand Theater, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Partners for Home, this installment of Out of Hand’s “Shows in Homes” series is ongoing through May 18.
Playwright Amina McIntyre joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss this compelling glimpse into the realities of homelessness and the phenomenon of in-home live theater.
“Having a conversation with persons that are in the audience can possibly make it so we can do some more direct action,” said McIntyre.
