The founders of a local members-only club and coworking space for women is launching two new anti-racism campaigns.

Martine Resnick and Eileen Lee, who opened The Lola in Old Fourth Ward in 2019, say the two initiatives are in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent eruption of protests following the police killing of George Floyd.

On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Resnick and Lee talked with show host Rose Scott about the mission of The Lola and why it’s so vital that club members be a part of changing the current racial climate by being advocates and allies and amplifying Black voices.

During the conversation, the women also shared that the initiatives will include training about micro-aggressions, implicit biases and a $300,000 investment to Black-owned women businesses and social justice organizations that support the Black community.
