Jessica Locklar is a creative based in Atlanta who draws, paints, sculpts and tattoos. Her works explore themes of intimacy, identity, memory, connection and subversive confrontation.
“I think a lot about emotion and how it translates visually,” said Locklar. She continued, “Music is a big influence. I love how certain sounds or lyrics can evoke a feeling, and I try to do the same within my art.”
Locklar enjoys going to Empire Arts Gallery, ABV Gallery, MOCA GA and Atlanta Contemporary to see new artwork. “Some of my favorite art experiences happen in pop-ups or warehouse spaces … some of the most exciting shows are the ones you just stumble upon,” said Locklar.
