An Atlanta-based journalist is now a Pulitzer Prize winner for his analysis of the city’s “hidden homeless.”

On Monday, author Brian Goldstone was awarded in the general non-fiction category for his 2025 book, “There Is No Place for Us: Working and Homeless in America.”

“These are the nation’s hidden homeless—omitted from official statistics, and proof that overflowing shelters and street encampments are only the most visible manifestation of a far more pervasive problem,” according to the Pulitzer description of the award-winning book.
