On this edition of “Closer Look,” Atlanta-based music journalist and “Record Redux” author Quentin Harrison reviews the year in music and shares his top 2022 albums.

This year’s favorites include some of the biggest names in music – Beyoncé, Harry Styles and Carly Rae Jepsen – but Harrison’s list also included many lesser-known artists.

Coming in at number one: “I Don’t Know What I’m Doing” by Nerina Pallot.

“Nerina does a little bit of everything: jazz, funk, blues, pop. She’s absolutely phenomenal,” Harrison said. “She’s worked with people like Kylie Minogue – but she does her own thing, and I think that works for her.”
