Atlanta Getting Ready For 2018 College Football Championship

It’s still more than a year away, but Atlanta is already warming up to host the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship. In addition to the two teams, one of the main stars of the game will be the venue.

Mercedes Benz Stadium is prominently displayed in the official logo for the championship. According to this week’s Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Atlanta Sports Council, the division of the Metro Atlanta Chamber that recruits major sports events, just unveiled it’s marketing design which features the 71,000-seat stadium with the city skyline in the background. The group also named the board of directors and staff for the Atlanta Football Host Committee (AFHC).

The AFHC is a group comprised of some of the city’s leaders in business, sports and tourism, which it says were brought together to prove “to college football fans across the nation why the people of Atlanta proudly consider their city the hotbed for college football.”
