Atlanta’s dance scene is vibrant and eclectic, and we are honored to highlight some of the many local dancers who move us with their movements in our ongoing series “Speaking of Dance.”

This edition highlights Atlanta performer, dance instructor and choreographer Emily Christianson. She is certified in Pilates, the Gyrotonic Expansion System, and Redcord suspension.

“Something about the possibility of expressing my own feelings and impulses through movement really took hold of me, and I’ve been making dances ever since then,” said Christianson.

Some of her favorite performance spots in Atlanta are The Goat Farm, The B-Complex, The Windmill Arts Center and the Schwarts Center at Emory. Christianson is expanding upon a solo piece she created in 2022 titled “Conceal.” You can find more information about her latest works and upcoming projects here.
