On the “City Lights” series “Speaking of Poetry,” Atlanta’s most prolific wordsmiths discuss the art of evoking emotions with words. This “Speaking of Poetry” edition features spoken word artist Jon Goode.

Goode is an Emmy-nominated poet, playwright and author who has participated in HBO’s Def Poetry, TV One’s Verses & Flow and BET’s Lyric Café.

“I would describe my work as written for the people on the number 89 bus down Old National Highway,” said Goode. “I strive to write at eye level – to create things that can be grasped and understood and appreciated by everyone.”
