While the Falcons might have missed their shot at this year’s Superbowl, one scrappy Atlanta native will seize his chance at fame Sunday in Puppy Bowl XIX.

Bleu the Australian Shepherd will be competing for Team Ruff in this year’s nationally televised Puppy Bowl. They’ll take on Team Fluff this weekend.

Bleu was rescued by Beunca Gainor, the founder of FurEver I Love Atlanta, an organization that provides community assistance to pet owners.

“It doesn’t matter who you are, you can have tattoos , you can have locs in your hair, gold teeth, you could not speak the King’s English, you can be a little bit ghetto… and I want to make it normal for people to just be their selves, to have the type of community assistance they need with no bias, nothing but love and 100% care,” said Gainor.

Gainor said she rescued Bleu and was able to give him the attention he needed after his previous owner found the young pup a little too rambunctious.

Bleu has since been adopted but viewers can watch him Sunday at 2pm on Animal Planet.
