In December of 2021, the prominent Atlanta art dealer Bill Lowe passed away due to complications from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was the owner and president of the Bill Lowe Gallery for over 30 years. After Lowe’s passing, the gallery appointed Donovan Johnson as executive director to continue his mentor’s legacy.

The name of the gallery has since changed to the Johnson Lowe Gallery, and Mr. Johnson is ushering in a new era for the space. The Alchemists is the first exhibition to kick off the rebranding. It’s on view through April 29. Donovan Johnson co-curated the show with Seph Rodney.

In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes speaks with both guests about the exhibit and new changes for the gallery.

“The Alchemists” is on view at the Johnson Lowe Gallery through April 29. More information is available here.
