The James Beard Foundation announced on Wednesday its finalists for the 2025 Restaurant and Chef Awards, with one Georgia restaurant making the cut out of 12 Peach State semifinalists.
Buckhead restaurant Aria was named a finalist for Outstanding Hospitality. This award is designated to culinary establishments “that fosters a sense of hospitality among its customers and staff that serves as a beacon for the community and demonstrates consistent excellence in food, atmosphere, hospitality and operations,” according to the foundation.
Other nominees include Archipelago in Seattle, Mixtli in San Antonio, Atomix in New York City and Harbor House Inn, located in Elk, California.
The James Beard Awards are one of the culinary industry’s most prestigious honors. The awards aim to acknowledge “exceptional talent and achievement in the culinary arts, hospitality, media and broader food system, as well as a demonstrated commitment to equity, community, sustainability, and a culture where all can thrive,” according to the organization’s website.
“On behalf of the Awards committee and the Restaurant and Chef Awards and Beverage Awards subcommittees, congratulations to the 2025 honorees and nominees,” said Chef Elizabeth Falkner in a Monday press release “My deepest appreciation also goes to our subcommittee members and judges whose thoughtful consideration makes this important recognition possible.”
