Edward Ahmed Mitchell, the deputy executive director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), says CAIR is the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Mitchell talked with program host Rose Scott about CAIR’s ongoing advocacy work and the “Islamophobia in the Mainstream,” the organization’s newly updated report that reveals 26 anti-Muslim organizations received at least $105 million from private foundations to spread misinformation about Muslims and Islam.

During the conversation, he further explained how CAIR uses the report to contact the funding foundation and discourage them from giving funds to hate groups.
