The first few months of the second Trump administration has alarmed some of America’s veterans. Thousands of former service members have reportedly been laid off in federal job cuts. Now, according to an internal memo, the White House plans to cut more than 80,000 employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs, many of whom are also veterans.

There has also been concern about the Pentagon purge of archives that documented diversity in the military and details about a military strike being leaked in a Signal group chat involving Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

Kyle Bibby, the co-CEO of the Black Veterans Project, and Lindsay Church, the executive director of Minority Veterans of America, joined “Closer Look with Rose Scott” on Wednesday to share their thoughts.
