DeKalb Schools Superintendent Horton indicted, placed on leave

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County Schools Superintendent Devon Horton has been indicted on charges related to his time as superintendent of Evanston-Skokie School District 65 in Illinois.

The indictment alleges that Horton was involved in a kickback scheme.

Following news of the indictment, the DeKalb School Board called an emergency meeting on Oct. 9 and placed Horton on paid administrative leave, appointing Chief of Student Services Norman Sauce as acting superintendent.
