Six-time Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Dionne Warwick will spend her 80th birthday singing to fight hunger across the nation this holiday season.
The legendary singer, noted as one of the most-charted female vocalists of all time, is teaming up with Hunger: Not Impossible to host Dionne Warwick’s 80th Holiday Musical Birthday Celebration on Saturday.
“I give myself a birthday every year, and my gift to me this year is my gift of giving,” Warwick said on Friday’s edition of “Closer Look with Rose Scott.”
Warwick, who served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN, talked with show host Rose Scott about several topics: quarantining during the pandemic, food insecurity and her thoughts on returning to touring. She also provided more details about her live-streamed birthday celebration that will include musical tributes, holiday duets, and a live interview with television producer Anthony “Tony” Cornelius. Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner Johnny Mathis, Chance The Rapper, ChloeXHalle are among several celebrity guests who will participate in the celebration.
