President-elect Donald Trump is now preparing to take office for his second term in office as the 47th president of the United States. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris has conceded the 2024 presidential race but is encouraging voters to stay engaged and to continue fighting for a better America.
Trump won Georgia overall, but Harris improved on Biden’s 2020 margin in some metro Atlanta counties. But there’s still a lot to understand about the presidential race.
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Emory professors Pearl Dowe and Andra Gillespie return to the program to analyze presidential election results and what exit polls reveal about specific voting blocs. They also discussed gender gaps and why voters sometimes vote for their aligned political party rather than for the gender of a candidate.
