Employment confidence rising

According to Randstad, 69% of workers polled, say it’s unlikely they’ll get laid off.  But if they do, they’re not too worried.  Not only that, but 43% say they’re confident in their ability to find another job.

February marked the second month Randstad’s Employment Confidence Index increased.  Analysts say it’s not just good for workers’ egos, but increased confidence could pay big dividends to the overall economy.

That’s because the less people worry about where their next pay check is coming from, the more likely they are to buy things.  Consumer spending accounts for nearly 70% of the economy.
