The Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA) is a statewide organization founded in 1981.

Since then, they’ve focused on women’s and children’s issues, increasing representation for Black women in the judicial system and public offices. The association is also known for taking proactive stances on political issues.

GABWA president Terrica Redfield Ganzy, and Aklima Khondoker, who serves as GABWA’s Political Action Committee chair, were guests on Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

They talked with show host Rose Scott about GABWA’s mission, helping future jurists navigate their careers, and their thoughts about democracy in 2024.
