Local organizations are urgently responding to help Georgians who will soon be without federal assistance for food. More than 1.4 million Georgians will lose their benefits when the nation’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program stops issuing funds this Saturday due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.

“Closer Look” program host Rose Scott talks with leaders of several Georgia-based organizations working to make sure households across the state have food and other wraparound services.
