As the federal government shutdown stretches past two weeks without a clear end in sight, Republicans and Democrats are both making their case to voters as to why the other party is to blame.

Senate Democrats have refused to approve the House-passed budget without concessions from Republicans on health care tax credits, while House Republicans have refused to return to session until there is a vote.

U.S. Rep. Rich McCormick, R-Ga., an emergency room physician, has specifically called out Georgia’s Democratic U.S. senators for what he called “irresponsible government.”
