A special Georgia state Senate committee recommended legislation Wednesday to gradually reduce personal income tax to zero in 2032, as well as to reduce it next year for Georgians under a certain income threshold.

The committee wants Georgia to not collect personal income tax on the first $50,000 for individuals and the first $100,000 for joint filers starting in 2027.
