Andrew Gobeil, the director of communications and public affairs for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, says travel has continued to pick up over the past few months as more people get vaccinated.

“It’s starting to get more busy here at the airport and we expect to see even busier in  the days ahead, explained Gobeil on Monday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

Gobeil told program host Rose Scott that the busiest airport in the nation is expecting to see at least 2.2 million passengers from Nov. 20 through Monday, Nov. 29.

During the conversation, Gobeil also talked about the airport’s ongoing response amid the pandemic, a recent incident that involved the accidental discharge of a weapon at the airport and what airport officials are doing to make sure passengers are safe.
