As the weather cools, and we find ourselves curling up with a hot drink and a good book, many young readers will return to, or discover the enduring classic of children’s literature, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” by Beatrix Potter.

To honor her gift to the world, the High Museum of Art and the Alliance Theatre are partnering to present two experiences: a High Museum exhibition, “Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature,” and a premiere performance at the Alliance of the musical “Into the Burrow: A Peter Rabbit Tale.”

In this interview, the High Museum’s Eleanor McDonald Storza, director of education Andrew Westover and Alliance Theatre co-artistic director Christopher Moses join “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss the exhibition and stage play.

We wanted to really focus on what it means to live in community and support each other, and that is the heartbeat of this play,” Moses said.

The High Museum exhibit “Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature” is on view through Jan. 7, and the Alliance Theatre is presenting its new production, “Into the Burrow: A Peter Rabbit Tale,” through Dec. 23.
