Millions of healthcare dollars could be at risk in Georgia as congressional Republicans continue to weigh cuts to Medicaid. Health experts warn that cutting federal Medicaid funds that flow to states could have far-reaching impacts, particularly on some of Georgia’s most vulnerable populations. 

Who is covered by Medicaid in Georgia?

Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids cover roughly 2 million adults and children up to age 19 who live on low incomes, including people who are blind or have other disabilities, senior citizens, pregnant and postpartum women. Medicaid covers roughly half of births in Georgia.
