Jad Abumrad is the creator and co-host of WNYC’s groundbreaking program Radiolab.

The show is known for its unconventional, often outlandish production style, mixing interviews and music and sound effects in an effort to explain everything from how the brain processes sound to why cats always land on their feet. Radiolab began on WNYC over a decade ago. The signature style of the show came about almost by accident, Abumrad said.

Abumrad is in Atlanta on Saturday to give a lecture titled “Gut Churn,” which covers the origins of his show, and explores the way that stress, mistakes and failure play into the creative process.
