Kennesaw State University recently launched the Center for the Advancement of Military and Emergency Services Research (AMES Research).

On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” assistant professors of psychology Brian Moore and Israel Sanchez-Cardona talked with program host Rose Scott about the mission of the new research center that aims to reduce suicide, anxiety and depression among Georgia’s military and public safety personnel.

During the conversation, the professors also talked about the passing of House Bill 1013, a measure that aims to require most insurance companies to cover mental health care the same way physical health is covered and provides student loan forgiveness for mental health providers who work in underserved communities.
