Last day for NPR senior European correspondent Sylvia Poggioli

After 41 years with National Public Radio, and more than 50 years as a reporter, Sylvia Poggioli says she’s ready for a different pace.

Friday was her final day with NPR after decades of serving as a primary conduit of information about the European continent for many in the U.S.

She says she looks forward to being able to spend more time reading and is considering writing a book herself.

The veteran radio journalist joined WABE’s “All Things Considered” to reflect on her career and talk about what’s next.
