Dr. Grant Rivera, the superintendent of Marietta City Schools, says the district recently implemented a mask mandate due to an increase of COVID-19 cases at schools across the school system.

“It’s one more layer that we can take to keep our students and our staff safe,” explained Rivera on Monday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

The veteran educator talked candidly with show host Rose Scott about school-based Covid transmission, providing Covid testing and vaccination clinics to the Marietta community and the district’s back-to-school plan.
