MARTA has officially renamed one of its busiest downtown stations ahead of the new year.
The transit authority changed the name of the GWCC/CNN Center Station to the Sports, Entertainment, and Convention District Station (SEC District Station) on Dec. 1.
The change comes months ahead of several major events scheduled downtown for 2026, including the expansion of the entertainment district Centennial Yards and eight matches of the FIFA World Cup.
