Fairburn Police Chief Stoney Mathis says police chiefs often decide on the types of policing services a community will receive without input from the community.
He believes chiefs should take a different approach.
“You need to meet with the community, get the community’s assessment on what kinds of police services do they want because, oftentimes, it’s not the same,” Mathis said.
