A “magnificently soulful” life is how the award-winning playwright and hip-hop storyteller, Psalmayene 24, describes the subject of his latest play, “Young John Lewis.” This Atlanta world premiere traces the roots of extraordinary leadership and reveals a power we all share.

“This is really a story about a man who is awakening to his own power, and it takes us deep into the life of John Lewis prior to becoming the great congressman he became,” said Psalmayene 24.

With story and lyrics by playwright Psalmayene 24 and original music by Atlanta composer Eugene H. Russell IV, “Young John Lewis” is on stage at Theatrical Outfit June 4-29.
