With their shared mission to empower the next generation of veterinary students, Zoo Atlanta and Fort Valley State University have teamed up for a new program.
Veterinary students will receive hands-on clinical experience treating more than 200 species of exotic animals. They’ll also have access to all the resources of the Rollins Animal Health Center, a state-of-the-art facility which opened in 2024.
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look with Rose Scott,” we learn more about how the program will prepare students for their future careers with Dr. Sam Rivera, the vice president of Animal Health at Zoo Atlanta, and Keith Howard, the vice president of Land Grant Affairs and the dean and director of 1890 Research and Extension Programs at Fort Valley State University’s College of Agriculture.
