Photographer Alan Batt Captures The Stories Of Black Chefs In America
In his latest book “Toques in Black,” food photographer Alan Batt — better known as Battman — highlights the life and work of 101 different Black chefs across the United States.
Battman is known for his authentic photography approach, eschewing conventional methods such as using a “food stylist.”
The end result of this process is a book filled with raw pictures of the food he photographs.
He joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about his new book, his process and the touching stories of the chefs he met along the way.
