In the mid-1960s, two very different cultural icons met.
Legendary boxer Cassius Clay (later to be known as Muhammad Ali) asked Hollywood actor Stepin Fetchit to give him some tips on boxer Jack Johnson’s fighting style. Johnson had been Fetchit’s friend.
The encounter is the subject of Will Power’s play “Fetch Clay, Make Man,” which Eric J. Little will direct for the True Colors Theatre Company.
