The shop suffered a catastrophic fire back in February that destroyed most of its interior.
The location opened in 1965. After Martin Luther King Jr.’s funeral in April 1968, the store fed mourners by donating 150 dozen donuts to Atlanta churches.
Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal bought the location in 2016. After the fire in February, he vowed that the store would “be back stronger than ever.”
