The electronic duo Thievery Corporation has constantly been touring since they released their debut LP, “Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi,” in 1996. The band consists of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton, and its sound is a more human take on the electronica boom of the 1990s.

Thievery Corporation plays the Tabernacle on Saturday, May 18. “City Lights” contributing producer Jacob Smulian spoke with musician and producer Garza about life on the road.

“It’s beautiful to connect with audiences and experience the music through other people’s eyes and ears and movements,” said Garza.
