Republican Sen. Pat Toomey’s win in Pennsylvania will keep Republicans in control of the Senate if GOP candidates in Alaska and Louisiana hold onto those seats, as expected.

Toomey narrowly defeated Democrat Katie McGinty in the most expensive political race in Senate history.

Democrats’ chances of retaking the Senate majority started slipping away when Republicans hung onto key seats in Wisconsin, North Carolina, Indiana and Florida.
