Opponents of the proposed regional transportation sales tax, or T-SPLOST, have hinted they might file a lawsuit over the language voters will see on the July 31st ballot. The actual question is preceded by a caption, which says: “Provides for local transportation projects to create jobs and reduce traffic congestion with citizen oversight.” Opponents claim that’s an ad, and therefore, illegal. Last week, a T-SPLOST supporter, Bert Brantley of Untie Atlanta, defended the ballot wording in a talk with WABE’s Denis O’Hayer. Now, we hear from one of the leading opponents: Transportation Leadership Coalition chairman Jack Staver.
