Task Force Launches To Promote Donations To Rural Hospitals

State lawmakers have launched an effort to help funnel money to Georgia’s rural hospitals through a state tax credit program.

Earlier this year, the General Assembly passed a measure that would allow businesses and people to claim state tax credits if they donate to rural hospitals that have been financially struggling. On Tuesday, state lawmakers, along with hospital executives, launched a task force to help market the program so that people will start donating next year, and to provide other long-term financial recommendations for rural hospitals.
