The Home Team

After the implosion of the Georgia Dome in 2017, Mercedes-Benz Stadium became the new home for the Atlanta Falcons.

Since then, the stadium has brought a lot of hype and money to the city, but what about the neighbors next door?

The new documentary, “The Home Team” explores how Atlanta’s Westside communities have been overshadowed due to the development of the new stadium.

Camille Pendley, an Atlanta native is the director of the film. She partnered with producer Tracy Bates of the Historic Westside Cultural Arts Council to tell the lesser known stories of the west-end neighborhoods. Camille joined Lois in studio  along with executive producer and an Atlanta attorney Wayne Kendall to discuss the film.

You can see the premiere of the documentary at Midtown Art Cinema Thursday at 7 p.m.. WABE’s Morning Edition Host Lisa Rayam will be moderating a Q&A session following the screening.
