Mardi Gras or “Fat Tuesday” celebrations begin this weekend, and you need not travel to the French Quarter for an authentic musical celebration.

Atlanta’s bonafide New Orleans-styled group–Wasted Potential Brass Band is playing this Saturday at the Mardi Gras Ball in Roswell.

Last weekend the band released their first full-length studio-recorded album “Ruining the Surprise Party.” Band members Jamie Hemphill and Chris Kearney joined Lois Reitzes in studio to discuss how the band got started.

You can see them play Saturday at 1pm at The Family Dog on North Highland Avenue, then at the Mardi Gras Ball in Roswell that evening.
