There’s now hope for the thousands of crucial Transportation Security Administration workers, who have now missed two paychecks during the partial government shutdown. The U.S. Senate unanimously agreed to a proposal early Friday that funds TSA and other crucial agencies under the Department of Homeland Security.

But the deal left out funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol, as Democrats are still demanding changes to DHS operations, including mandatory body cameras for immigration officers, and prohibitions on masks during enforcement. The measure now heads to the House.

President Donald Trump also announced late Thursday that he planned to sign an emergency order to pay TSA workers. The announcement, made on his Truth Social account, comes just a day before Congress is supposed to start a two-week recess.
