Just a few days into 2024, some of the biggest stories of 2023 are already carrying over into the new year.

Not only the biggest local story of the year but perhaps our lifetimes is the Fulton County indictment of former President Donald Trump and 18 others on charges of racketeering and election interference.

WABE politics reporter Sam Gringlas continues to follow the story and joined “All Things Considered” to bring us up to date.

Gringlas said although a grand jury indicted 19 people in this case, not all 19 will go to trial because a number have taken plea deals.

He also said Trump has a lot of political grudges in Georgia but also has to be careful because a lot of those folks are well-liked Georgia Republicans.
