Atlanta, GA – On Friday, Nov. 18th, the Georgia Special Council on Criminal Justice Reform issued its long-awaited report, recommending major changes in how the state sentences people to prison for some crimes. The report cited the state's exploding prison population and the soaring costs of keeping so many people behind bars. WABE's Denis O'Hayer spoke with panel member Rep. Willie Talton (R-Warner Robins), a retired sheriff's deputy.
